Approachable. Organised. Adaptable.
Alanna knew what she wanted to do since high school, she always wanted to work in the healthcare industry to support and assist others. After doing some research, she chose Occupational Therapy! Alanna graduated from Curtin University in 2011 and worked for 9 years in residential care settings, alongside people with neurological conditions, older adults and people living with dementia. In 2020 when Alanna was looking for a new challenge she joined the team at OT Services Group. Alanna was looking towards a community-based Occupational Therapy position that would allow her to work alongside people and support them to achieve their goals and with the right tools to continue to live in their own homes for optimal quality of life. Alanna works mainly with NDIS participants and she is driven by the collaborative position she is in today, as an OT, she works collaboratively with individuals and families to support them so that they can reach their potential to improve everyday living skills, achieve their goals and help everyone to live their best lives.
Outside work, Alanna loves playing soccer and athletics, coaching athletics and provides mentoring to younger athletes. Her passion for helping others extends outside of OT Services Group and she is very active in the community, Alanna is one of the volunteers with the Right Track Foundation to support youth in Perth and areas of the Murchison and Mid-West regions. If you find Alanna in Perth you will probably find her planning the next trip. Her passion for travelling can be seen as common for many, on the other hand, her pets' Rango and Dobby - two thick-tailed geckos - can be seen as unusual as she says, what do you think?
