Ayesha was born in the Cocos Islands (Keeling) before moving to complete her primary and secondary schooling in Brunei Darussalam. Ayesha came to Perth when she was 18 years old and to complete her tertiary Occupational Therapy degree at Edith Cowan University. Ayesha always knew she wanted to work with and help people, but didn’t want to necessarily work in a hospital setting. Growing up in Brunei Darussalam in South East Asia, Occupational Therapists were almost unheard of, however after participating in a week-long healthcare rotational program which involved shadowing health care professionals within the hospital and the community, Ayesha was immediately intrigued by Occupational Therapy. Since moving to Perth, Ayesha has worked at Rocky Bay, Perth Home Care Services, and Brightwater Care Services, completing support work and as well as becoming involved with privately funded care. Ayesha has a strong passion for helping people within their homes, and assisting people with accessing their community. Since graduating Ayesha started working at Daily Living Products and later moved into a community home visiting role at Occupational Therapy Services Group and where she was able to combine her love and knowledge for assistive equipment & community services. Since 2015, Ayesha has worked primarily in our community DVA services & currently helps mentor and support new staff coming into the area. Outside of work, Ayesha loves spending time with her husband (Tom) and fur-baby (Maggie) at the local beach. On the weekend you will find Ayesha browsing for homewares and most likely at Angove Street Colective, Merchants of Swanbourne or The Giving Tree.
